Our School

At Longcroft we believe that every child should be known and cared for as an individual. We are an inclusive, welcoming community which, with the support of parents, provides a caring, safe and welcoming environment in which to learn and grow.

Our ambition for our young people is evident through the high expectations we have for all in our community. We pay attention to the little things and recognise the critical importance of our Longcroft Standard in sustaining a high performing culture which enables and empowers all learners to achieve well. Through our actions as a community we live our values of Great Heart, Great Thought and Great Vision, in to being each and every day; and these form the secure foundation for all that we do.

Our aim is to provide a world class education for those we serve, instilling in them, the knowledge, skills and personal traits to confidently navigate life beyond school and make a positive contribution to society and the world. We encourage our young people to ‘Reimagine what’s possible’ and to celebrate the great capacity of ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things.

As part of our commitment to a holistic education, we offer a rich and varied range of enrichment opportunities, outside the formal curriculum. From our extracurricular programme including the arts, sport, charity, games and academic opportunities to our many trips, visits and experiences, our young people have a vast array of choice. In addition, our Careers programme provides our children with those skills that are highly sought by employers and universities, such as leadership, communication, organisation and teamwork.

Longcroft is located on the outskirts of the stunning market town of Beverley in East Yorkshire. We serve a broad geographical area including the surrounding villages, with many pupils choosing to travel to access the school from beyond our immediate catchment area. We are fortunate to be able to educate our young people in a beautiful setting with state-of-the-art facilities, which have benefitted from significant investment over recent years to transform our school estate.

We know that our partnership with parents is at the heart of our success as a school. We believe good communication is essential and to that end we work hard to establish a positive partnership that will support our children and families. Through our weekly newsletter we also share the many successes, opportunities and events that are available throughout the school year.
