After qualifying in the first round at Wolfreton last month, Longcroft’s Key Stage 4 boys and girls and the Key Stage 3 boys headed off to Wolfreton for the second round of this badminton tournament.
The Year 8 boys played some very good games and came joint second, narrowly missing out on going through to the next round. Well done to those boys - Owen Waterson, Freddie Mills, Owen Bruton and Nick Taylor.
The Year 11 lads lost a player due to an injury the day before the tournament. Thankfully, Alex Paraschiv stepped in to make his debut in these competitions and did exceptionally well, as did the rest of the team - Owen Walker, Oliver Stapleton and Alex Stapleton – who all played some excellent badminton.
Winning all their matches against Wolfreton, South Hunsley and Beverley Grammar, they now go on to represent the East Riding against Hull and Lincolnshire schools on 5th February.
The Keys Stage 4 girls were also successful, finishing in first place against Wolfreton, South Hunsley, and Beverley High School. Charlotte Hall, Lucy Walker, Abi Ankrett and Daisy Miles played some excellent matches and will also go on to the next round.
These were great results for everyone involved and we look forward to hearing back about their future matches.Go Back
